Red, White & Blue Cupcakes

cupcake batter (box or homemade)

frosting (tub or homemade)

red food coloring

blue food coloring

patriotic theme garnish: liners, sprinkles, flags,

Divide batter three ways: 1/3 original batter, 1/3 batter dyed red and 1/3 batter dyed blue. Alternate scoping batter in liners. Bake according to directions. Divide frosting three ways: 1/3 white,  1/3 frosting dyed red and 1/3 frosting dyed blue. Scoop all three frosting in a 16 inch piping bag (with a tip at the end) in a way that the frosting comes out variegated in a red, white and blue design.
